A Small & Simple Way to Grow Your Sales -- Imprint Add-Ons

Do you know the average number of customers that come through your store every week?  What about the average sale? What is the average number of items bought?
Are you watching these numbers regularly?  You should be!
These are a few of the easiest numbers to track and will help you keep a pulse on how well you and your staff can SELL and how well your displays and signage are tempting customers to “add-on”.
What difference would it make to your bottom line if you could increase each ticket or several of them by $2-$5?
What are some easy add-ons or companion products we can easily sell?
The first one that comes to mind, that doesn’t require any product knowledge concerns Scriptures.  How many of your customers are leaving your store with just scriptures?  No Imprint or Engraving of a name -- that’s a service that is almost all profit!  Even the paperback and hardback Book of Mormons can be imprinted.  Do you ever offer it on those?  Would someone be more inclined to read it if their name was printed on the book?
How about a tote to carry the scripture in?  We carry such a wide variety of totes in varying prices that should be an easy add-on. When I worked at This is the Place, we didn’t Imprint totes, but we would do a plate to put on the tote – another add-on sale!
And speaking of Imprints, Engraving or Embossing, whatever you like to call it, have you ever taken your staff on a “store tour” in an employee meeting looking for all the products you carry that “lend” themselves to this service?

Let’s start a list:

  • Journals – many of them will take it and sometimes a plate will work
  • Pocket Hymnals
  • Hymn Books
  • Book of Mormon for LDS Families, New Testament, Old Testmant, & Church History ones as well,

I don't want to give them all away :O) - So what other products in your store have you provided this Imprint  service on?  Come on and share . . .
